CV Development for PMO Professionals

Let’s Get Started

Welcome to the PMO CV series from PMO Learning which you’ve just signed up for.

Over the course of the next two weeks, you’ll be receiving emails from us that take you through the process of creating a great CV.

You’ll be receiving videos to watch; documents to complete; lots of practical ideas and of course, you’ll be creating a great CV of your own.

In this page, we’re sharing a video session with you to get you started.

Grab an hour somewhere without interruptions, get your pen and get ready to start making some notes from the insights you’ll hear.

This video session is all about getting you in the right frame of mind before we get to the stage where you’ll be doing the work!

The video we’re sharing with you is a session we broadcasted to the PMO community who were interested in also developing their CV.

In it, we cover three key areas; how to demonstrate your depth of skills and experience; how to write a CV which targets the right level of role within the PMO and also some general advice to get through shortlists to interviews.

The session will definitely get you in the right mindset and there will be lots of questions posed that will help you to start thinking about your CV.

You’ll see the parts about the PMO CV and you’ll want to know more and perhaps look closer at the images shared. Don’t worry, you’ll get to see all of those over the coming weeks.

The CV is the most important career document you own, unfortunately even the most experienced PMO practitioners don’t have a great CV.

Common problems with them include:

  • It’s not clear what type of PMO person you are.
  • It’s not clear about the type of PMO you work in or manage.
  • It’s not clear how complex the role or the PMO is.
  • It’s not clear where the organisation the PMO sits.
  • It’s not clear how large the PMO is.
  • It’s not clear what service and functions you have experience in.
  • And tasks, activities and skills are often missing.
  • Sometimes they get muddled – interchangeable experience between PMO and delivery roles.
  • And important skills get buried.

Over the course of the next two weeks, we’re here to help change that.

Your next session arrives in two days time
