Better Business Cases Certifications For PMO Teams

Why Better Business Cases Certifications?

Better Business Cases training and certification is based on the ‘Five Case Model’ – the UK government’s best practice approach to developing spending proposals and enabling effective business decisions.

This training is mandatory for all those engaged in developing, reviewing or approving spending proposals for the UK government.

Better Business Cases have two courses:

Better Business Cases™ Foundation

The Foundation course is ideal for professionals who are new to business case development or who support the planning and approval of projects and programmes. This includes project support staff, analysts, PMO professionals, and those involved in shaping investment proposals. The course introduces the structure and purpose of business cases using the Five Case Model and builds confidence in understanding the rationale behind investment decisions.

Better Business Casesâ„¢ Practitioner

The Practitioner course is suited to those who develop or review business cases as a core part of their role – such as project managers, programme leads, finance officers, and policy advisors. Building on the Foundation knowledge, this course focuses on the practical application of the Five Case Model through realistic scenarios and interactive exercises.

Why train together as a team?

If you have six or more members of staff wanting to take the Better Business Cases certifications, it is much more cost and time effective to host the training course yourself. All you need to do is let us know your preferred dates and the location, either virtual or at a physical location of your choice. We will provide the certified trainer with all the course materials and examinations. Small amounts of customisation can also be incorporated into the certification training to bring further relevance to learners.

Benefits to team training;

  • Consistency in knowledge – everyone shares a consistent understanding of PMO principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate together – team members can discuss and apply the concepts learned in the course, promoting knowledge sharing and problem-solving.
  • Build a common language – when the entire team is trained together, it establishes a common language and vocabulary.
  • Shared commitment – shared learning experiences can boost team morale.
  • Retention and Onboarding – treating staff well and giving them opportunities to develop and learn.
